Gaming on a Budget or A New Year's Resolution a Month Late

So The Trophy Wife and I have been looking over the books of the last year and it turns out that I don't spend as much money on my hobby as I thought. But that doesn't mean that I can't do a little better. Over 2008 I spent on average $29.83 on geekly pursuits.

In the last year I've been relatively productive but I still haven't been chewing into my backlog of projects. In fact, I think I have more on the "to do" list than I did at the beginning of the year. A great deal of that may have to do with the fact that there has been a bit of a diversification of interest over the last little while in the group. I have built & painted a Warmachine army, a BFG fleet, a Legends of the Old West posse. I have also acquired an Alkemy boxed set, and the beginnings of a Warhammer Fantasy Battle Army; but I digress...

The point is, I think I could probably still have a bunch of fun and spend less than $30 a month. So this year I've decided to spend a paltry $25 a month on my geekery. Now don't get me wrong, I fully expect that I will be off the wagon by mid-year, and I will be enlisting the aid of friends and family to supply me with geek only gifts on my birthday in the event that I'm not; but I'm gonna' give it a go. Gaming on 5/6 of last years budget. I'll let you know how it goes.

Yours in service,

The General

I'd say something but I am applying an equal economy on my words.
